There are many causes for erectile dysfunction, including medical reasons, age, stress factors, lifestyle, inadequate rest, or smoking and alcohol. In all cases, reducing risk factors by making lifestyle modifications should accompany treatment using ED medication.
Vardenafil is a relatively fast-acting erectile dysfunction medicine with its effects potentially working after 25 minutes. It belongs to a family of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE) inhibitors. PDE inhibitors are medicines that prevent the phosphodiesterase enzyme from breaking down the messengers responsible for the relaxation of smooth muscle and therefore widening of blood vessels in the penis when stimulated. This dilation improves blood circulation and increases blood flow which therefore leads to a better erection.
This group of medication is commonly used to treat erectile dysfunction, and there are other different drugs within this group such as Sildenafil, Tadalafil, and Spedra. Although Vardenafil is only licensed to treat ED, other drugs within this group can be used to treat conditions such as certain types of high blood pressure. It is therefore used with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease and heart failure or hypotension (low blood pressure).
Generic Vardenafil is like Levitra in terms of its mechanism of action while being significantly cheaper. Therefore, you should notice no difference between the effects of these two treatments.
Vardenafil is also available as a 10 mg orodispersible tablet. This may help those with swallowing difficulties. It may also suit patients who do not want the effects of a heavy or high-fat meal to interfere with the rate of absorption of the drug. As the orodispersible tablet only comes in one strength, patients may wish to increase the strength to 20 mg by doubling up on the tablet. Alternatively, if the 10 tablet is too strong, the dose may be halved to 5mg.

Side Effects of using Vardenafil

These side effects are not cause for great concern and should last only a short time.

How long will it take Vardenafil to work?
Tadalafil tablets should begin to work within 25-60 minutes. Sexual stimulation is needed for Vardenafil to be fully effective. If you eat a large meal before taking Tadalafil tablets, the effects may be delayed.
How long will the effects of Vardenafil last?
The effects of Vardenafil last for approximately 4-5 hours. You will still require sexual stimulation for the medicine to work.

Can I drink alcohol with Vardenafil?

Can I drink grapefruit juice with Vardenafil?
You must avoid grapefruit juice at the same time as it increases exposure to the drug. If you drink grapefruit you must avoid doing so at least 24 hours before administering Vardenafil
